Welcome to Rustington Cricket Club

Rustington cricket club is a small well established friendly village club on the Sussex coast, with amazing bar facilities, a good pitch and a great team ethic.

The cricket club was established in 1892 and celebrated its centenary in 1992 by playing a Sussex CCC squad, which included Ian Salisbury in his debut year for England.

The club started league cricket in 1979 and continues today with 3 Saturday league teams in the Sussex Cricket League and a Sunday friendly team.

Rustington cricket club is also promoting a juniors section where all juniors are welcome from all abilities and age groups.

We have a state of the art outdoor twin lane net facility funded by the club providing all weather training.

The club has achieved the ECB's clubmark status, meaning we are a safe club to play for, and we follow the strict guidelines on kids coaching.

After winning the toss and being asked to field, our First XI restricted Burgess Hill to 142 inside 38 overs.Player of the Match, Matt Reynolds picked up 4 wickets for 34 runs, with Fin Gardner returning figures of 2/28 in his six over spell. A special mention for Freddie Harris, who picked up his first wicket in the First XI.The Burgess Hill total was chased down inside 29 overs. Matt Reynolds and Ben Gardner both had wonderful knocks that included half centuries. Matt hitting 58* including ten 4s, and Ben 62* including nine 4s and two 6s.The Second XI faced Pagham at home, and after losing the toss, were asked to field, restricting the visitors to 162/8. David Mangold and Danny palmer shared a fantastic opening spell, restricting Pagham to 24-4 off 7 overs.David Mangold was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2-26 off 9 overs. Incredible slip catches from Danny Wood and Simon Gosden, and Ron Reene with great glove work behind the stumps was notable.The batting innings started well, with Callum Adfield scoring 21 off 16 balls. A quality run a ball 41 from Player of the Match Simon Gosden, followed up by a partnership of 37 between Bhavesh Prabhakar, 20* and Alan Hylands, 24* seeing us home inside 29 overs.Our Third XI faced Broadwater away, and after winning the toss elected to field. Player of the Match, Alex Neil-Smith, and Gareth Lehmann were pick of the bowlers, securing three wickets a piece in their spells, with identical figures of 3/33 and a maiden each.After restricting Broadwater to 195/8, the batting innings was anchored by Player of the Match Jess Palmer, with a wondeful knock of 48 that included nine 4s, and some incredible cricket shots.After a great team effort with everyone contributing, the Third XI fell shy of the chase.Earlier in the week, our Slam team beat Shoreham CC by three runs. Danny Wood and Player of the Match, Danny Palmer, were pick of the batting scoring 30 runs each, with Lewis Wood 2/3 off one over, and Jack Weaver 1/8 off three overs leading the bowling.A special mention for Shay Wheeler, who picked up his 100th senior wicket during the match.#rustingtoncc #ECB #sussexcricketleague #cricket ... Junior Round Up! The U10s have played two matches in the last two weeks and although we haven’t won yet, we are showing big improvements in every game. We played Goring and Arundel. Well done to the 3 players of the match - Dominic, Archer and Thomas.The U12s played a good and well disciplined Findon team. Although we lost we scored more runs than we usually do, took more wickets than the previous match and saw our player of the match, Tommy, hit 3 sixes!!! On Sunday we welcomed Worthing and Goring to Rustington as we hosted a four team U9 festival. On a glorious day we had a lot of fun and took wickets, got catches, a run out and boundaries. A great success to all those involved. Well done Hugo and Felicity for having a really good festival.
